Areas of Expertise
Narrative Therapy
Trauma has a way of having a ripple effect in our lives. I offer a compassionate approach and help clients rewrite their narratives in an empowering and engaging way that helps clients heal.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Our thoughts influence our behaviors. When our thoughts are overwhelmingly negative, they can make us act in a way we don't want to. By helping clients work to better understand their thoughts and beliefs about themselves, we can work together to challenge these negative self-beliefs and engage in cognitive restructuring which aims to change thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Psychological flexibility can help us avoid the thinking traps of black and white thinking, or rigidity, and notice what truly matters. When we can identify our personal values, this can motivate us to change and live our ideal life.
My Approach
I use evidence-based approaches in my practice. Listed above are some of my preferred modalities. However, every client is unique and I like to employ an individualized approach that is emotionally focused and implements humor, support, and warmth.
I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, loneliness, and relationship issues. I incorporate a modern lens to give attention to common concerns specific to gen z and millennials. Some of my areas of focus include OCD, excessive appearance concerns, social media anxiety and internet personas, coping with an absent parent, gender and sexuality identity, and relationship/intimacy struggles.
